The small field at the edge of the forest is a calm and peaceful place.
Unidentified birds chirp merrily in the distance. The sun shines warmly nine
days out of ten. Gentle breezes tickle the plants with all the force of a kitten's sneeze,
and the springy smell of clean dirt and healthy plants invites a long and languid stay.
Curiously, however, most visitors find themselves exiting the field almost as eagerly
as they entered, before they've even had the chance to sit down and relax.
This may have something to do with the primary inhabitant.

Though he greatly resembles a rabbit in size, shape, and the occasional
mannerism, the Realms' resident K'd earned his secondname not for sweetness
or pleasantries but for the massive and indiscriminatory chip on his shoulder.
After being found at Lliyani by ddpej, he followed her back to the Realms not
because they struck up any particular bond but rather because she hadn't
told him she couldn't -- and he'd wanted to see what kind of great land
let itself be ruled by a cat, anyway.
Upon his arrival, Chocolatechip wasted no time laying claim to the first
decent field he found. By the time he discovered the Birbit who already lived
there, the K'd buck had already gotten quite comfortable in his new denn and
decided he could tolerate an obviously unobtrusive neighbor -- even if it was
a flying rabbit, of all things. They are not friends, and Chocolatechip will
not hesitate to explain this sharply and with much vigor, but Casus is an
easy-going fellow, and they do not generally bother each other.

While Casus is as shy and wary as any proper Birbit, Isha has the boundless
energy of youth and the benefit of a very comfortable upbringing. Hatched and
raised under Casus' devoted and watchful eye, she is also accustomed to having
Chocolatechip around as a grouchy, grumpy guardian -- not that the K'd would
ever admit to it. Within the borders of the field, Isha is queen of her world.
Curiously, however, she almost never strays from her home turf, whereas
Casus prefers to live and forage in the field but is also familiar with the
woods bordering the field and will take to the trees if it seems safer.

*Despite his furious protests, Chocolatechip has received a variety of nicknames from some of
the other inhabitants of the Realms. The two most popular so far are Cocoapuff and Easter Bunny,
no doubt because these are the two that regularly result in the most entertaining tantrums.
